Urban areas have become complex and fragmented; time has become precious, attention spans have shortened and space has become a commodity. We find ourselves having to manoeuvre through labyrinths and territories marked by boundaries that establish where we can and cannot go, which spaces are public or private, and where we enter and exit. App-based delivery services, taxis and digital platforms rely entirely on GPS, to the point that it is difficult to imagine life without knowing exactly where we are 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This project is a personal reminder that it is okay to get lost sometimes – after all, we all belong to the same Pale Blue Dot.

“Un sedicesimo” means “one sixteenth” in Italian and is a highly regarded bimonthly magazine published by Corraini Edizioni. Conceived as a “gallery on paper,” each 17 × 24 cm issue is a 16-page project completely designed by a different selected artist, illustrator, or graphic designer.
